In November 2024, the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Janet Kataha Museveni, inaugurated a new science block at SMACK. This facility, named in her honor, is part of a broader effort to enhance science education in the country. The new science block is expected to provide state-of-the-art resources for students.
Additionally, the college has a history of producing top-performing students in science subjects, reflecting its strong emphasis on scientific education. For instance, SMACK has appeared multiple times among the top-performing schools in Uganda, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence.
St. Mary's College Kisubi (SMACK) made history by becoming the inaugural champions of the FUFA TV Cup on July 8, 2023. They secured a 2-1 victory over Kiira College Butiki at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
Kiira College Butiki took the lead in the 38th minute with a goal from Gift Fred Mutalya. SMACK equalized just three minutes later through Jimmy Ambayo. The match remained tied until the 90th minute, when SMACK's Griffin Mwesigwa scored the decisive goal, clinching the victory for his team.
This win marked SMACK's first major trophy in the competition's history. The tournament also recognized individual performances, with Kiira College Butiki's Ernest Olukol named Most Valuable Player, Gift Fred Mutalya finishing as top scorer with 8 goals, and SMACK's goalkeeper Darren Aine awarded the Golden Glove for conceding only two goals throughout the tournament.
